Orange Cardamom French Toast

Orange Cardamom French Toast: Buttery Brioche dipped in a mixture of eggs, cream and sweet spices then fried in butter and topped with powdered sugar. And then drizzled with some real maple syrup, of course.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • pinch kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1 loaf brioche
  • butter

Instructions

  • Cut the bread into thick slices
    A loaf of bread cut in slices
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs until well combined. Whisk in remaining ingredients.
  • Melt butter in a skillet
  • Soak the bread in the egg mixture making sure to coat both sides
  • Place bread into the hot pan of butter. Cook until golden brown. then flip with a spatula and cook until the other side is nicely browned.
  • Drain on paper towels and then place on a plate to serve. Spinkle with powdered sugar and garnish with som orange zest.
  • Serve with warm maple syrup. Enjoy!
