Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger or measuring tool
  • Coupe or martini glass
  • Small plate for sugar rim
  • Citrus juicer

Ingredients

  • ounces cognac
  • 1 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • ½ ounce fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ ounce honey lavender syrup
  • Ice
  • Lemon wedge for rimming glass
  • Fine granulated sugar for rim
  • Fresh lavender sprig or lemon twist for garnish

Instructions

  • Rub the lemon wedge around the rim of a coupe or martini glass. Dip the rim into fine sugar to coat. Set aside.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  • Add the cognac, triple sec or Cointreau, fresh lemon juice, and honey lavender syrup.
  • Secure the lid and shake vigorously until well chilled.
  • Strain into the prepared sugar-rimmed glass.
  • Garnish with a fresh lavender sprig or lemon twist and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor.
Culinary lavender works best for homemade lavender syrup.
Chill the glass beforehand for an extra refreshing cocktail.
Cointreau adds a smoother orange flavor, but triple sec works beautifully as well.
