Looking to incorporate a little more spice in your life? Add this spicy margarita to your drink menu! Made with a homemade jalapeno simple syrup, fresh lime, orange, and more! Run the rim of your glass with lime and dip into tajin for more kick!

Ingredients

Jalapeño Simple Syrup

  • 2 jalapeno's- thinly sliced with seeds
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

Spicy Margarita:

  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 3 ounces jalapeno simple syrup
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 3 ounces fresh orange juice
  • Ice

Optional Garnishes:

  • Tajin for the rim
  • Sliced jalapenos
  • Lime wedge
  • sugar/salt for the rim

Instructions

Make the jalapeno simple syrup

  • Combine syrup ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Stir until sugar has dissolved. Cover and allow to cool completely. If desired, strain out jalapeno slices when storing.

Prepare your glasses

  • Drag a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip into the tajin, salt, or sugar.

Make your margarita

  • Combine all your margarita ingredients in your cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour into your ice filled glass and enjoy!

How many servings does the jalapeno simple syrup make?
- This syrup recipe will make enough for 3-4 margaritas depending on how
much syrup someone prefers.
Can I make this margarita more or less spicy?
- Yes. To make it less spicy do not add the seeds of the jalapenos. To make it
more spicy add more jalapenos and make sure to keep the seeds!
How do I store the syrup?
- You can store it in a carafe or enclosed jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
Are there any substitutions I can make?
- Yes. You can use your preferred spicy pepper. Such as serrano or fresno.
