Ingredients

  • 2 mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 3 tablespoons red onion, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika

  1. Add mango, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño to a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour in lime juice and sprinkle with salt and smoked paprika.

  4. Cover and chill for at least 20 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve with chips, tacos, or your favorite grilled dishes.

Ingredient Notes

Mangoes
Use ripe but slightly firm mangoes for the best texture. Overripe mangoes can become too soft and mushy.

Red Onion
Adds a sharp bite that balances the sweetness. If you prefer a milder flavor, rinse the chopped onion under cold water.

Cilantro
Brings freshness and a classic salsa flavor. If you’re not a fan, you can substitute with parsley.

Jalapeño
Adds a mild heat. Remove seeds for less spice or leave some in if you like it hotter.

Lime Juice
Fresh lime juice is key—it brightens all the flavors and ties everything together.

Smoked Paprika
Adds subtle smokiness and depth. Optional, but highly recommended.

Tips for the Best Mango Salsa

  • Dice evenly: Uniform pieces make the salsa easier to scoop and eat
  • Chill before serving: This helps the flavors blend beautifully
  • Adjust to taste: Add more lime for tang or salt for balance
  • Don’t overmix: Keeps the mango from breaking down

What to Serve with Mango Salsa

This salsa is incredibly versatile and pairs well with both sweet and savory dishes:

  • Tortilla chips or plantain chips (especially spicy or jerk-seasoned varieties)
  • Tacos—fish, shrimp, chicken, or veggie
  • Grilled jerk chicken or steak
  • Slow-cooked pork carnitas
  • Baked or grilled salmon
  • Tossed into a fresh green salad

It’s also so good you might just eat it straight from the bowl—no judgment.
