Fresh pineapple salsa: Fresh, sweet, a little spicy and oh so good! Chunks of fresh pineapple, onions, sweet peppers, Serrano pepper, cilantro and a touch of lime.
This salsa is the perfect condiment for tacos, grilled meats and fish or just snacking with some fresh tortilla chips.
How to make fresh pineapple salsa:
- Peel, core and dice fresh pineapple and place in a mixing bowl.
- Mince the onion, pepper and cilantro and add to the bowl with the pineapple.
- Cut the Serrano Chile in half lengthwise an remove the white pith and seeds. Finely mince and measure and add to the pineapple.
- Add the paprika, salt, lime and pineapple juices. stir to combine
Tips:
- Wash the outside of the pineapple before cutting into it. This will prevent any kind of contamination to the pineapple when you cut into.
- Wash hand thoroughly with soap and water after handling chile pepper. Do not rub eyes or touch your face until hands are thoroughly washed.
- The pith and the seeds are the hottest part of the chile pepper.
How to serve fresh pineapple salsa:
- Add to tacos or burritos
- Serve with Slow-Cooker Pork Carnitas or Kalua Pork (Hawaiian Pulled Pork)
- Serve with Hawaiian Plate Lunch
- Add atop a salad for a little zing
- Serve with grilled fish and seafood
- Add to a yummy pulled pork sandwich
- On top of pulled pork or chicken nachos. Yes Please! Don’t forget The Best Guacamole!
