Fresh Pineapple Salsa

Fresh pineapple salsa: Fresh, sweet, a little spicy and oh so good! Chunks of fresh pineapple, onions, sweet peppers, Serrano pepper, cilantro and a touch of lime.

Fresh pineapple salsa: Fresh, sweet, a little spicy and oh so good! Chunks of fresh pineapple, onions, sweet peppers, Serrano pepper, cilantro and a touch of lime.

This salsa is the perfect condiment for tacos, grilled meats and fish or just snacking with some fresh tortilla chips.

How to make fresh pineapple salsa:

  • Peel, core and dice fresh pineapple and place in a mixing bowl.
  • Mince the onion, pepper and cilantro and add to the bowl with the pineapple.
  • Cut the Serrano Chile in half lengthwise an remove the white pith and seeds. Finely mince and measure and add to the pineapple.
  • Add the paprika, salt, lime and pineapple juices. stir to combine

Tips:

  • Wash the outside of the pineapple before cutting into it. This will prevent any kind of contamination to the pineapple when you cut into.
  • Wash hand thoroughly with soap and water after handling chile pepper. Do not rub eyes or touch your face until hands are thoroughly washed.
  • The pith and the seeds are the hottest part of the chile pepper.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups diced (small) fresh pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons minced red onion
  • 2 tablespoons minced red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 tablespoon minced serrano chile pepper seeds and pith removed
  • 1/8 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh pineapple juice reserve juices from cutting up pineapple

    Fruity salsa is such a great addition to any grilled meat/fish. I like your addition of smoked paprika here.
