Ingredients needed for this spicy margarita recipe:

Jalapeno Simple Syrup

  • 2 jalapenos – thinly sliced with seeds
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar

Spicy Margarita:

  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 3 ounces jalapeno simple syrup
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 3 ounces fresh orange juice
  • Ice

Optional Garnishes:

  • Tajin for the rim
  • Sliced jalapenos
  • Lime wedge

How to make this spicy margarita:

Make the jalapeno simple syrup.

Combine syrup ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until sugar has dissolved. Cover and allow to cool completely. If desired, strain out jalapeno slices when storing.

Prepare your glasses.

Drag a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and dip into the tajin, salt, or sugar.

Make your spicy margarita.

Combine all your margarita ingredients in your cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour into your ice filled glass.
